Oh! Oh! Oh! I'm game for learning *any* stitch!

Well, re-learning as my brain refuses to remember how to even hold a needle *grumble*

Must find the gateway to yarnia first, though. All I have is linen thread...

Oh, your way to do is the similar to one I have learnes as my first stich. That´s the way grannies do it in Karelia, where also my roots are.
Even the stich is basically the same, the result is a bit different that the "western" style.
And I like the eastern style so much! When we meet at Sticks and Stiches, I will teach you the oslo-stich and the russian. How about that!
The fur hat which I donated to Queens gift basket to Pennsic was made by russian style... maybe I should do some more of those for local lords too : )
Anyway; It´s nice to have you here, among us "needlebinded maniacs".

Thanks! My socks are done in the finnish stitch (See Krista vajanto's excellent thesis on naalbound mittens and especially the helpful videos, the finnish stitch is under "suomeksi" here: http://www.vajanto.net/gradu/). The logic seems to be the same, except that I work in a totally different way than the video shows. I use my thumb a lot less, almost minimally, just to adjust the loops to the correct size.

Here are some instructions that describe pretty well how I do it: http://cc.joensuu.fi/~marantan/ohje1.gif
http://cc.joensuu.fi/~marantan/ohje2.gif

And as for the streamer - It's a carousel of images with me in one. I'll try to find more good quality pics soon to give more variety, and thanks to this feedback, more of pics of me.

Kiitos! Sukat neulalla on projekti, johon ehdottomasti kannattaa ryhtyä.

Hi Elina
The layout looks great - like the fact that we can see you in the head streamer. It makes it more personal. And great job with the socks - it really is a nice first try. Which stitch did you use?

Ompas söpöt sukat. Sukkia en olekaan vielä neulalla tehnyt. Mutta odotapas, perästä tullaan ja sukkiesi kuvaa käyn katsomassa, jotta selviää miten kantapää luonistuu.
